Wormans are small, worm-like creatures that reside in the backyard.
Description
Wormans appear in at least 1 episode of every season of the show. They can be found in a wide variety of colors and are always the same miniature size. The Wormans are friends of the Backyardigans, who delight in occasionally including them in their adventures.
Looks
The Wormans are all small worm-like creatures that are always standing upward in a letter 'S' position. They come in almost every color: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and more. They have two eyes each. Some have spots on their backs either large spots and speckled spots while some rarely are spotless.
Appearances
Wormans have appeared in five episodes of The Backyardigans: "The Heart of the Jungle", "Polka Palace Party", "What's Bugging You?", "Attack of the 50 Foot Worman", and they make a special appearance in "Sinbad Sails Alone" as the hair of Medusa (Tasha).
Trivia
- In season 1 the Wormans only vocalize in squeaks and gibberish noises, which is implied to be a language called “Wormanese.” Tyrone is fluent in it. However, in What's Bugging You?, they communicate through "meeps" and actual words ranging from English words like Party and conga along with speaking Spanish counting to three.
- The episode also reveals that Wormans are good at cleaning.
- Polka Palace Party reveals that Wormans are incredibly strong able to lift large objects like a tuba or other instruments.
- In the episode Attack of the 50 Foot Worman, Uniqua learns that Wormans are easily scared and clumsy, and they like to eat popcorn.
